1. Provider and scope
These terms apply to the NNovel / NightNovel iOS and Android apps and official website provided by InitialS (“we”). Contact initial.s.2013@gmail.com. These terms govern use of the service; personal information is addressed in the Privacy Policy. Accepting these terms is not consent to all tracking, analytics or advertising processing.
Read the terms before using the service. Where express acceptance is legally required, we must provide an appropriate acceptance process rather than treat merely visiting the website as agreement. If you do not accept the applicable terms, stop using the relevant service. Existing statutory rights and legitimate requests are unaffected.
2. Eligibility and supported platforms
The service is not directed to children and should not be used by anyone under 13. Users aged 13 or older who have not reached the local age of majority or independent contractual capacity must obtain parental or guardian consent where required. Local laws and store content-rating restrictions still apply.
Supported devices, minimum operating-system versions and regional availability are described in the relevant store listings and release notices. Ordinary reading does not require a NNovel account. Optional Google Drive or iCloud backup requires a corresponding account, permissions and storage space. Those accounts are managed by their providers.
3. Features, charges and advertising
NNovel supports novel discovery, search, reading, favorites, progress storage, reading settings and optional backup / restore in supported versions. Search, fetching content and updating chapters require a network connection. A local bookshelf or reading history does not mean complete novels are available offline.
General features are currently free. Some releases may include advertising; availability, formats and providers depend on the release and configuration. Ads or external links do not constitute endorsement. Transactions with an advertiser are subject to its terms, without excluding any responsibility we retain under applicable law.
If paid features or subscriptions are introduced, prices, duration, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be disclosed before purchase, and necessary purchase consent obtained. These terms do not themselves authorize a charge. Network, roaming and cloud-storage charges depend on your arrangements with the relevant providers.
4. Permitted use and app license
Subject to these terms and applicable law, we grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable except as permitted right to use the app personally. The app code, interface, branding and our original materials belong to InitialS or their respective rightsholders. Open-source components remain governed by their licenses rather than incompatible restrictions here.
Do not use the service to infringe rights, distribute malware, bypass valid access or payment restrictions, interfere with service operation, or extract or resell content in bulk without permission. Except as allowed by law or an applicable open-source license, do not copy, modify or distribute the app code without authorization. These terms do not remove mandatory exceptions for lawful security research, interoperability or other protected activities.
5. Content sources and rights complaints
Rights in the novels, covers and other third-party content presented through the service belong to their respective rightsholders. The service does not grant users rights to separately reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit that content.
If you believe content presented through the service infringes your rights, contact initial.s.2013@gmail.com with the work's name, the relevant page or chapter, evidence of your rights and your contact details. We will review the notice and, as appropriate, restrict access to or remove the relevant content.
6. Backups, restoration and data management
Backup is optional and includes only supported favorites, reading progress, book metadata and reading settings. It excludes cached chapter text, search history, login credentials and other app state. Google Drive and iCloud are managed separately; cross-platform real-time synchronization or direct interoperability is not promised.
Automatic backup depends on connectivity, battery, operating-system background execution, cloud quota and authorization. A configured frequency is not a guarantee of execution at a particular time. Check the last successful backup and run a manual backup when needed.
After successful upload, the app attempts to prune older versions for the same installation identifier and retain the latest three. Failed cleanup or other installation identifiers may leave additional versions. Disabling backup, revoking access or uninstalling does not automatically delete existing cloud copies. There is currently no in-app one-click control to delete all backups. See the Privacy Policy's deletion section or contact support.
Restoration may merge records or replace progress and reading settings according to your choices. Review the account, version and restore summary first. Where undoing the previous restore is available, it depends on the local recovery data still retained. These precautions do not remove liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence or other legally non-excludable responsibility.
7. Privacy and device security
Protect your device and Google / Apple account against unauthorized access to backups or reading data. Do not send passwords or authorization tokens to support. Available settings allow management of automatic backup, system notifications and tracking permissions. Data-rights requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
Backup protection depends on the app, device and cloud provider together. We do not claim end-to-end encryption for backups. Your reasonable precautions do not replace our data-security obligations.
8. Changes, suspension and termination
We may adjust features and supported versions for fixes, security, platform requirements, content rights or maintenance. Where reasonably practicable, material impacts will receive advance notice and necessary information about managing data. Urgent security or legal restrictions may take effect immediately.
Unlawful use, material violations or threats to service security may lead to necessary and proportionate restrictions. Where legally and practically possible, we will explain the reason and an appeal route. You may stop using or uninstall the app at any time; this does not automatically erase all associated information.
If the service ends, retained information and pending requests will be handled as required by law. Provisions concerning data protection, accrued liability and disputes survive to the extent necessary and legally applicable.
9. Service quality and responsibility
We use reasonable care to maintain the service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted, accurate availability across every device, third-party source or network. Remedies for defects depend on applicable law and the circumstances.
These terms do not exclude mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranties or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for fraud, intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Any permissible limitation applies only as far as the law allows. We do not disclaim all responsibility simply because the service is free or involves third parties, or impose unlimited indemnification for matters unrelated to your own conduct.
10. Law, disputes and updates
Applicable law governs the service. Cross-border use does not remove non-excludable consumer or privacy protections available in your jurisdiction. You are welcome to contact support about disputes, and remain free to seek remedies from competent authorities or courts. These terms do not require arbitration, waive collective remedies or require proceedings exclusively in a specified foreign court.
Revisions and their effective date will be published, with appropriate notice of material changes and separate acceptance where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued statutory rights. If a provision is invalid, separable remaining provisions continue to apply.
